How do we keep in touch with you?
We do our best to keep parents informed and involved by :
| We regularly email parents with information and news, both on a whole school basis and from specific departments, year groups and classses. Experience shows that this is a more reliable method than giving paper copies to students! If you are a parent and would like to receive emails from us, please email datamanager@perins.hants.sch.uk from the email address that you would like us to use, and tell us your full name, and the name(s) and tutor group(s) of your children. | |
| Texts | We use text messaging to send out brief reminders (e.g. INSET Days, Parents Evenings). If you do not receive texts or would like us to use a different number please email datamanager@perins.hants.sch.uk with your full name, the name(s) and tutor group(s) of your children and the number you would like us to use. Please make it clear whether this is a new number simply for the text service, or is a new mobile number you would like us to use in the event of an emergency. I am afraid we can only send texts to one number - we cannot, for example, send the text to both parents. |
| Letters | There are still many occasions when students will be given a letter to bring home and give to you, especially about trips and events when there are reply slips to be completed and returned. Please ask your child regularly if they have any letters for you. Click here to find copies of recent letters home: this area is currently under review and development so please bear with us and email datamanager@perins.hants.sch.uk if there is a specific letter you need and cannot find. |
| Moodle | This is our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), which contains a wealth of school information, especially about your child's curriculum, Independent Learning and school based events and activities. Some parts of Moodle can be viewed by anyone ("Guest access") and to be allowed access to more detailed information you will need to contact Mrs Bound to request a login and password. You can do this by emailing her on bound@perins.hants.sch.uk |
| Learning Gateway (SLG) | This site gives parents access to their child(ren)'s personal data, including assessments, behaviour, achievement, timetable and class details, etc. We are running a trial of SLG with students and parents in Year 10. To learn more about this, click here. |

| I am worried about my child's progress | If you have any concerns about your child's progress in a specific subject, please contact their class teacher. We encourage contact by email and teaching staff respond to these promptly, but please bear in mind that they have busy teaching schedules and may be busy at lunchtime and after school.
